Plato

Plato

At the corners of Bovard Administration Building’s central tower stand eight figures, sculpted by Johan Caspar Lachne Gruenfeld, which were selected by the university’s trustees at the time the building was constructed as being “representative of the progress of civilization.” The figure of Plato (shown here) – commemorating classical achievement – marks the southwest corner of the tower.
